HATE IS SAFER THAN LOVE

Relationships are complicated and at times, hate is safer than love. It is easier to hate than love someone.

Meeting with a Model turned Stylist

I had the great fortune of meeting and getting acquainted with Chriselle Lim. A model turned stylist, Chriselle is everything I want to be at her age. I know that I am capable of something great- I just haven't found it yet.  But seeing, meeting, talking and getting to know Chriselle has given me hope, encouragement and faith that my dream career is out there.  It is amazing to see what she does and she is only one woman!

All my life I have been surrounded by successful women and I am happy that I have a great support system.  My mom, my sisters, my cousins and my teachers have equipped me with skills, life lessons, experience and knowledge that I will indoubtedly take with me in pursuing every opportunity that comes my way.

For every positive there is a equal negative

Great news, I'm now a Fashion Editor!

Downer: I have so many bills and Alex is sick. Repairs are going to amount to a minimum of $400.00 so I'm not looking forward to scraping every penny I have, but Alex needs to get better. Alex takes me everywhere, I love my car!

My Internship with FVM Global Magazine

My first article was published this summer, "Becoming Marilyn":

The Becoming Marilyn exhibit of original photography of Norma Jeane-Marilyn opened on June 24, 2010 at the Andrew Weiss Gallery in Beverly Hills. The exhibit consisted of popular Hollywood photography of Marilyn Monroe and the event was put together to commemorate Marilyn’s 84th birthday. The attendees of the opening event had the privilege of meeting Bill Carroll, the last living photographer of Norma Jeane-Marilyn.

The link that brought Bill Carroll and Marilyn together was the result of a serendipitous event in which Bill needed a “girl next door” to shoot and Marilyn was launching her modeling career. The two met for two days at

Castle Rock beach, “one mile north of Sunset Boulevard”, where Bill took about 145 photos in black and white as well as in color. After their photo shoot, both parted ways and moved on with their careers. It was not until many years later that Bill realized the photos of the “girl next door” that he took many years ago had become Marilyn.

When asked about Marilyn and her photos, Bill said the following, “The thing that I would like to say to all of you because to me it is very important, these are not my pictures, these are her pictures. She posed herself, she did the smiling, she looked….I did absolutely no posing. That’s what you are looking today”.

The Becoming Marilyn exhibit will be available for public viewing from June 25 through September 18, 2010 at the Andrew Weiss Gallery, 179 S. Beverly Dr., Beverly Hills, CA 90212.

To obtain more information about the Becoming Marilyn exhibit, please contact Rachel Colon at (310) 246-9333 or email her at rachel@andrewweiss.com
